In late 1996 our President, Hoa Yap, was a Systems Analyst/Programmer set on a career path in information technology. Like many women, she wanted to have a family and a career. At a time when many corporations were inflexible with working parents, she decided to take a leap of faith and started a business in an emerging technology industry, the World Wide Web.
At the time many thought that the web was just a fad and wouldn’t last but a few years and others speculated that the Web would grow too big and crash. Hoa was attracted to the flexibility that the Internet offered and was excited about the challenges of the relatively new industry. Armed with only a few clients made up of her past employers and business acquaintances, she incorporated and grew her business and reputation for providing quality services.
Although many companies of our size would generally move into commercial office space, the Internet allows us to work from our virtual offices. Hoa continues to work from her home as many of our developers do as well. With the exception of our data center support staff, we are mobile and can take our work just about anywhere. In doing so, we are able to provide our clients with exceptional service without the high cost of overheads like many of our competitors.
